After an adorable introduction by Ellen and Beyonce, Justin Timberlake took the 2013 Grammy stage to prove that he can do no wrong. None. This guy has so much talent equity that he’s not afraid to do something completely different.

Well, completely different in this century, anyway -- JT’s old school swagger brought some big band class to an awards show full of the same old stuff.

As the first chord sounded, we were taken back in time to the days of clarinet solos and idolized band leaders as the broadcast went black and white, during which JT went retro on retro with a medley of songs from his upcoming ‘The 20/20 Experience’ album ('Suit & Tie' and 'Pusher Love Girl'). The band was big. The songs were big. And JT’s return to performing was huge.

Just when we thought we knew what was going on – and stopped wondering why our TVs had changed to black and white – Jay-Z popped up out of his seat to join Justin on stage for a double-sexy performance.

But wait, there was more. The curtain went up and revealed JT had an even bigger band waiting to finish his perfect return performance.

As far as we’re concerned, this is what the Grammys are all about. We want to see big stars taking big risks, not doing the things they already know we like. JT has the biggest pair in Hollywood. And clearly, he can do whatever he wants. What. Ever.

Of course, all this performance did was make us hate Jessica Biel, because damn. But fine. We'll share.
