Basin Man Raising Funds to Buy Old Water Wonderland and Possibly Re-Open

Water Wonderland was one of two water parks in Midland/Odessa, the other being Wild River Canyon in Midland which was only open for a few years. But for Water Wonderland, in its hey day back in the 80's and 90's it was one of the two water parks in existence between DFW and El Paso. Now a Permian Basin man wants to try to bring Water Wonderland back.

According to Your Basin.com, Jeff Stoner is trying to purchase the old water park off Business 20 (the old Hwy 80) and raise funds to refurbish the once popular Water Wonderland.

The park has not been open since the early 2000's and is in shambles after over a decade of neglect by former owners.
