A new album from Beck was originally slated for an October 2016 release. But now it's nearly March 2017 and we still have no word on when it will come out. Fortunately, two six-year old songs that have never appeared on a Beck record have leaked to the internet. Both are embedded below.

The first song is called "Curfew," and bits of it were featured in a party scene in D.J. Caruso's 2011 movie I Am Number Four. The second is an instrumental that was presumably also intended for the film.

As The Future Heart discovered, this started when a French Beck fan, Pierrick Falmon, tweeted at Caruso, Beck, producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen and engineer Cole M. Greif-Neill asking if any one of them could share the song in honor of his upcoming birthday. Caruso obliged by sending a link to a Dropbox folder. That link, and the files within, made its way to someone who uploaded them to their Beck fan page on Facebook.

Beck hasn't delivered a full-length record since 2014's multiple Grammy-winning Morning Phase. But last summer, two tracks, "Wow" and "Up All Night" were released, with the latter being included in EA Sports' FIFA 17 game. At the time, it was expected that the album was coming out in the fall. He even discussed the vibe of the record in an interview. “It’s a summer night, people have their hands up,” he said. “It’s a communal, celebratory thing. I wanted to take that into the studio, a kind of energy or joy. The thing that wakes you up a little bit.”

In that same interview, he revealed the titles of three other potential tracks, "Dreams," "Seventh Heaven" and "No Distractions." Beck has been working on this project with Greg Kurstin, who has produced Adele, Sia and Kelly Clarkson.
