When you're a Beyonce fan, doing good sometimes comes with the price of admission.

In February, the Lemonade singer announced plans to use ticket sales for her Formation World Tour as a venue through which fans could donate to relief efforts for the Flint, Michigan water crisis. Yesterday (June 13), the early results came in, and Beyonce's BeyGOOD movement proved it put its money where its mouth is.

According to a press release, Bey's fans raised more than $80,000, an amount that was presented as a check to United Way of Genesee County. The charity has so far distributed bottled water and filtration systems, provided emergency support for locals of the area and begun planning long-term restoration efforts.

Moreover, BeyGOOD helped 14 area high school students plan for college with scholarship money (and, to their delight, gifted tickets to Beyonce's show in Detroit).

"We are so grateful for the support Beyonce has given to those in Flint and the way she has inspired her fans to fight for the education, health and financial stability of everyone in their communities," United Way Worldwide President Stacey D. Stewart said.

The Flint Water Crisis began in 2014, according to The New York Times, when it was revealed that old, corroded pipes had been leaching excess lead into the area's water supply. Nearly 100 cases of Legionnaires’ disease have resulted, and thousands of children likely face health complication for having been exposed.
