Beyonce wasted no time promoting her surprise self-titled album, 'Beyonce' -- even though she dropped it with no advance promo at all. The game-changing songstress performed a new song from the record, 'XO,' live on the Mrs. Carter Tour at the Chicago United Center ... and, of course, she killed it.

"This is the first time I'm performing this song," Beyonce introduced the track. "The first time -- it's something I'll never forget," she said. "I love y'all so much. I want y'all to sing it! Y'all ready?"

Of course they were. Everyone in the Beyhive knew every single word of the romantic ballad, despite the album only coming out at midnight yesterday!

For those under a rock, Queen Bey dropped 'Beyonce' on iTunes at midnight on Friday (Dec. 13), with no extensive press campaigns, no stunts, no magazine covers -- and she's already poised to top the charts. Twerkers, slut shamers, oversharers, mechanical dress wearers, ranters: this is how it's done.

And yes, they did love Beyonce. Even with the lights out.
