In celebration of Super Bowl 50, I have compiled the biggest blowouts in Super Bowl history just in case this year happens to be one of those blow out years.

All facts are courtesy of the NFL.

Here are the top 5 biggest blowouts in the history of the game:

  1. 45 points - Super Bowl 24 - January 28, 1990 - San Francisco 55 Denver 10.
  2. 36 points - Super Bowl 20 - January 26, 1986 - Chicago 46 New England 10.
  3. 35 points - Super Bowl 27 - January 31, 1993 - Dallas 52 Buffalo 17.
  4. 35 points - Super Bowl 48 - February 2, 2014 - Seattle 43 Denver 8.
  5. 32 points - Super Bowl 22 - January 31, 1988 - Washington 42 Denver 10.

Denver has been the victim of 3 of the biggest blowouts scoring a combined 28 points to their opponents 140 combined points.

The closest game in Super Bowl history was in 1991 when the New York Giants beat the Buffalo Bills by 1 point.

Also for note, there has never been an overtime game in Super Bowl history, so maybe this year will be the year if Carolina doesn't run away with it like they have been in most of their games this year.

If you can't watch the game because you have to work, make sure you tune into us to get all the game action live on the radio. Pregame starts at 3:00 and kickoff is at 5:30.
