City Of Midland Officials Ask Residents to Help Them Fight Against Mosquitoes

With West Nile and Zika viruses in the news, the City of Midland is urging residents to help them battle against mosquitoes.

According to NewsWest 9, the city is currently working on areas with tall grass and standing water.

The city is urging residents to maintain their lawns and empty out anything with standing water in them such as old tires, pools, rainwater receptacles, and cans that can easily fill with water.

They also ask residents to turn over wheelbarrows and keep plastic wading pools filled with fresh water daily to help prevent the mosquito population from increasing.
