In this new, hard hitting commercial from the NRA, Dana Loesch lays out the position of moms who demand protection and their right to bear arms.

The new ad first aired on Fox News 9/10/15.

'I’m a mom. And just like millions of other women, that’s why we own guns. We’re responsible. We’re law abiding. We’re everything that makes America strong.'

But some anti-gun advocates have a problem with the ad. Shannon Watts of Moms Demand Action offered this critique of the ad:

'I’m a mom. And just like millions of other women, that’s why I own guns. We’re responsible and that makes America strong. Everyday we’re willing to use a firearm to defend our families. But the media will never tell those stories. When a mom puts a gun to the face of a home-invading thug and makes him run for his life, the story gets buried. But, if she’s unarmed and gets murdered the cameras will be at the scene before the police… We’re law-abiding and I’m the National Rifle Association of America and I’m freedom’s safest place.' - Dana Losch, NRA Video

Despite the reaction from Shannon Watts, most think the messaging in this video is spot on and exactly what more Americans should be talking about. Firearms help the most helpless among us: The moms, the single women, the less-mobile, anyone that criminals might consider an easy target. As the old saying goes, 'God Created Men and Sam Colt Made Them Equal!' The only thing that can make a woman as 'strong as a man' is a gun. Not a rape whistle, not 911, not urinating herself, a gun. It’s called the great equalizer for a reason.

Some think that we need more gun laws, but the same problem rears its head: Criminals don't play by the rules or follow the law. it should also be pointed out that the cities with the strictest gun laws also have the highest rate of gun crimes?

What are your thoughts on Dana's video?
