Degrassi, a program that has touched generations of teenagers for three decades, is moving to
Netflix in 2016.

I've never seen an episode of 'Degrassi,' but I think I'm in the minority. I've heard of it. I've had discussions about the content of episodes with friends, due to the show's tendencies to push boundaries on teen topics.

Degrassi: The Next Generation has been airing on Nickelodeon since 2001, but after 14 seasons has called it a wrap. Now Netflix has swooped in and picked it up, and will continue to work with production company, Epitome Pictures, based in Toronto.

If you're a die-hard fan, you may be aware of the beginnings of the show and the fact that it's been around since 1979. The Kids of Degrassi Street aired from 1979-1984 in Canada.

The show Degrassi Junior High and later Degrassi High (1987-1991) featured some of the original actors and was often compared to Saved By the Bell and Beverly Hills 90210 which were airing in America at the same time.

The show was later revived in 2001, and has successfully continued for 15 seasons.
