The Season Premiere of HBO's 'Game Of Thrones' opened on a erie flashback scene that may or may not be a hint of things to come for Cersei Lanister.

Season 5 opened with Cersei Lannister coaxing a prophecy about her future from hermit witch Maggy the Frog. The reason that it may not be a portent of things to come was hinted at by G.O.T. showrunner David Benioff.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Benioff notes the scene where young Cersei (Nell Williams) and her friend enter the hut of Maggy (Jodhi May), who proceeds to predict that the Lannister princess will eventually become queen, have three children, that she will see die, and that she will be overthrown by a younger and more beautiful queen, may not be exactly the way the prophecy will play out.

Benioff told the interviewer that we all expect prophecies to play out exactly as they are foretold, but they don't always do.

Given that the show hasn't always followed George R.R. Martin's storyline to the letter, look for more surprises in what promises to be the show's biggest season yet.
