Rumors of an impending Harry Styles solo album have picked up serious speed lately, and it may be arriving sooner than any of us are emotionally prepared for.

During a segment on BBC Radio 1's The Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw, co-host Sinead Garvan reported an unsubstantiated rumor claiming Harry is gearing up for a possible "late April/early May" release date.

While Harry and his label have yet to confirm that an album will hit shelves within the next few months, Grimshaw -- who's maintained a close relationship with the "Perfect" singer since his early One Direction days -- noted he was supposed to hear the album this past Sunday (February 12).

"I was meant to hear it on Sunday and he said, 'I’ll come over on Sunday, do you want to hear it?' and I said, 'Yeah, I’d love to hear it, I said, '’ll get my mom to make a roast," Grimshaw explained.

Harry, however, never showed.

"Did he come? No," Grimshaw continued. "Did my mom make him potatoes with goose fat? Yes she did. She’s like, 'What time’s harry coming?' I said, 'I don’t know.' Eilieen’s not happy about it."

This anecdote indicates two important things: Harry's album is likely finished and he is a flakey and inconsiderate friend.

Columbia Records CEO Rob Stringer recently tossed fans a small nugget of intel regarding Harry’s forthcoming solo work.

“We’re close and we’re very excited,” Stringer told Billboard. “We have a record we’re incredibly excited about and it’s not far away from being ready. We obviously want everything to be beautifully done, because we think he’s here to stay. Harry has stepped up with the vision of someone who’s authentic.”

Rise, authentic solo Harry!!
