No more than halfway through November, and already TV is partitioning out your schedule for 2017. The latest to set its round of new premieres is Hulu, with a religious return for The Path Season 2, along with Elisabeth Moss’ adaptation of The Handmaid’s Tale, and more.

The year kicks off on January 25, as Aaron Paul, Hugh Dancy and Michelle Monaghan return for The Path Season 2, joined by new series regular Leven Rambin (True Detective). Check out the synopsis for yourself:

In its second season, The Path follows the Meyerist Movement as it tries to make sense of Doctor Meyer’s mysterious departure. Tormented by strange visions, Eddie struggles with a new life in the secular world while Sarah, despite her skepticism of Cal, now stands beside him as Co-Guardian of The Light. When Sarah finally learns of Cal’s dark past, she buries the truth for the betterment of The Movement. Cal and Sarah, now closer than ever, strive to atone for their misdeeds while Eddie, confronted with the meaning of his visions, discovers the truth of Doctor Meyer’s departure.

Less solid is the official premiere date for Hulu’s MGM Television-produced adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale, currently eyed for an April 2017 release. The cast includes Mad Men alum Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Orange Is the New Black star Samira Wiley, Max Minghella, Madeline Brewer, Leftovers favorite Ann Dowd and O-T Fagbenle. So reads the synopsis:

The drama series, based on the award-winning, best-selling novel by Margaret Atwood, is the story of life in the dystopia of Gilead, a totalitarian society in what was formerly part of the United States. Facing environmental disasters and a plunging birthrate, Gilead is ruled by a twisted fundamentalist regime that treats women as property of the state. As one of the few remaining fertile women, Offred (Elisabeth Moss) is a Handmaid in the Commander’s household, one of the caste of women forced into sexual servitude as a last desperate attempt to repopulate a devastated world. In this terrifying society where one wrong word could end her life, Offred navigates between Commanders, their cruel Wives, domestic Marthas, and her fellow Handmaids – where anyone could be a spy for Gilead – all with one goal: to survive and find the daughter that was taken from her.

Also in the mix are The Mindy Project coming back for the second half of Season 5 on February 14, Samantha Morton’s Harlots debuting on March 29, and Season 3 of Casual arriving on May 23, but which of Hulu’s offerings in 2017 shine brightest? Stay tuned for any trailers as they come.
