What's better than seeing 'Iron Man 3' before almost everybody else? Well for a group of amazing kids from New York City they found out that answer. As they attended a charity screening for Hurricane Sandy volunteers, they got to see 'Iron Man 3' with Tony Stark himself, Robert Downey Jr.

That very scenario played out for a theater full of lucky kids in New York City yesterday, when Robert Downey, Jr. showed up unannounced just minutes before a special screening of 'Iron Man 3' in Times Square.

Downey, Jr. was there to celebrate the kids in attendance, who played their own version of superhero last year: the screening was held for kids from the New York City Police Athletic League who volunteered to clean up Hurricane Sandy-ravaged areas around the city. For Downey Jr., who hails from New York (as does Stark), it was obviously his pleasure to put smiles on their faces.

"You’re the future of the nation," Downey Jr., looking dapper as always, remarked to the crowd. "I guarantee if you keep doing the right thing, you’re going to be running the joint in a minute.”

Where most celebrities might shy away from photos, Downey, Jr. told the crowd, "Please take pictures liberally. I'm used to this sort of thing."

It was a great moments for 'Iron Man 3' fans and you can watch the crowd go bonkers below.
