Joe Paterno may have passed away, but fans can still drink in his success.

Called the 409 Paterno Legacy series in honor of his now-restored victory total, JoePa's likeness appears on the cans, which should go on sale around Pennsylvania next week. It also will include his career accomplishments.

A case will cost around $24-$25, while 12-packs are expected to retail for $14. Pre-sale interest has been very good and a portion of the revenue generated will go to charity.

Paterno's career, of course, ended on more than just a note of controversy when he was fired in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky sex scandal. His son, Jay, addressed the criticism people may have for honoring his father.

I don’t blame them. They were fed a narrative that was not true by some people, and it’s slowly coming around, and more and more people are starting to understand what really happened."

Duquesne owner Mark Dudash explained making the beer was a no-brainer. “Very successful, his career over 40 years, what he did at State College, what he did as a coach, what he believed in. I just thought it was a natural."
