Juan Manuel Marquez knocked out Manny Pacquiao with a powerful right hand to the face at the end of the sixth round of their fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday night. The knockout gave Marquez his first victory in four fights against Pacquiao.

Marquez had floored Pacquiao in the third round, but Pacquiao rallied to knock Marquez down in the fifth. The fighters spent most of the sixth round exchanging ferocious blows when Marquez unleashed the monster punch that ended the fight at 2:59 of the sixth round.

Pacquiao led 47-46 on all three scorecards after the fifth round. His career record fell to 54-5-2.

This was a non-title bout for Marquez, the current WBO light-welterweight champion. He improved his record to 55-6-1, winning the HBO 'Champion of the Decade' belt.
