However many Batmen and Jokers the movies throw at us, many will always see (or hear) Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill’s take on comics’ most iconic arch-enemies as definitive. Batman: The Animated Series may be long gone, but both will return to their roles for a new Justice League Action animated series, airing on Cartoon Network.

Don’t hold your breath for a full Bruce Timm-verse revival just yet, as Cartoon Network’s new animated series will run in weekly 11-minute installments of Justice League Action, slotting in some new and familiar voices alike. In addition to Conroy and Hamill, the new series will feature James Woods as Lex Luthor, Batman: The Brave and the Bold voice Diedrich Bader as Booster Gold, and more to come.

The first DC series to launch on Cartoon Network since Teen Titans Go!, so reads the official synopsis for Justice League Action, as well as a poster below:

Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman lead the DC Comics Super Heroes against their most infamous foes in adventures packed with relentless thrills, fun and action. No need to wait for the good stuff to start, each eleven-minute episode jumps in with lightning-paced action and heroics. Teen Titans Go! alum Sam Register will act as the show’s executive producer, along with Justice League and Batman Beyond vet Butch Lukic, Batman: The Animated Series’ Alan Burnett and Green Lantern: The Animated Series vet Jim Krieg as producers.

Plenty more announcements to come, but will Conroy and Hamill’s Justice League Action return live up to past animated incarnations?
