Some final tests are still pending, but the latest reports say the Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office is ruling Kidd Kraddick’s sudden death a cardiac issue, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune and NOLA.com

Kraddick, 53, was set to play at a charity golf event Saturday at Timberlane Country Club in Gretna, La., but after a few practice swings, he was reportedly not feeling well.  He was rushed to Ochsner Medical Center-West Bank Hospital, losing consciousness on the way and was pronounced dead at the facility.

Pathologists are awaiting the results of toxicology tests. Evans said the autopsy, performed Monday morning, did not turn up any other abnormalities. “Heart disease was evident,” (Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office Investigator Tommy Evans) said. — NOLA.com

Kraddick’s morning show co-host Kellie Rasberry reported that he had also not been feeling well before the tournament.  WWL reports the charity golf event organizers they plan to hold an event in Kraddick’s honor in 2014.

Kraddick’s crew will continue a week of memorials, which you can listen to live each morning.
