The drought of 2011-2013 caused a lot of lakes in the area to almost dry up, including Lake J.B. Thomas.

According to YourBasin.com, the lake reached levels well below 2% capacity back in the drought years but has bounced back with all the rain showers we have had in the past couple of years.

Now that same lake is at 70% capacity and is again a place where people can go and enjoy water skiing, boating, fishing, and other recreational activities that the lake has not been a part of for years.

All boat ramps are operational and the lake was just stocked with one million fish.
