Marfa is the Home of the First House Made Out of Hemp

A unique house built of hemp is currently under construction in Marfa.

According to CBS 7, Yoseff Ben-Yehuda came to Marfa from New York and fell in love with the southwest feel of the town, so he decided it would be the perfect place to build his house made entirely of hemp.

Hemp is in the family with marijuana but it contains less than 1% THC, the material that gets you high.

Hemp experts say the material is great for building because it regulates humidity and can help cut costs on heating and air conditioning.
