Following in the footsteps of Kingsman: The Secret Service, Deadpool is another wildly profane and gleefully violent film hitting theaters in February, hoping to attract a very similar audience. And as this new clip proves, the Merc With a Mouth’s solo outing has something else in common with Kingsman: a female lead who makes a joke about anal. Out of context, it’s hard to tell if this joke succeeds as planned, but this brief scene does show off some of the chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Morena Baccarin.

The anal joke in Kingsman is the absolute worst — not because it’s distasteful, but because the joke feels awkwardly forced and falls a bit flat. In a film that’s so gleeful about its violence and profanity, Kingsman tries just a little too hard to make that line work. Maybe it fails because there’s no real joke to be had there; it relies on the outdated stereotype that women hate specific sex acts.

ANYWAY. Deadpool apparently attempts a similar joke here — oh, ha ha, it’s funny because a woman would never suggest such a thing! What’s actually funny is that a woman would never suggest such a thing using Baccarin’s wording, so maybe this joke is just a little off-center.

Still, as has been promised in recent marketing, there’s another good reason for Deadpool’s February 12 release date: in addition to being a wacky, violent, profane and totally crass superhero flick, this one also offers a bit of romance. And nothing says romance like a Ring Pop proposal.
