Odessa Police Department Doing Away With Off-Duty Security

A policy that has been in place since the 80's is being eliminated by OPD.

According to YourBasin.com, the policy which allowed Odessa officers to provide local security for local businesses is no longer being allowed beginning September 1.

The department started informing local businesses this week.
