The Permian Basin Metropolitan Planning Organization (PBMPO) has just approved a resolution to convert the two way frontage roads to one way.

According to NewsWest 9, now that the 15 month I-20 corridor study has been completed, the PBMPO met Monday to discuss, in part, a resolution to convert the current two-way frontage roads to one-way frontage roads.

The study concluded that the I-20 frontage roads were set up as two way roads back when Midland and Odessa were much smaller cities, and now with the growth over the past 50+ years, the board found that conversion would be a good move and they approved the resolution to begin the process of converting the frontage roads to one way.

The conversion will not be for a while though, master plans must be drawn up to show the board what the conversion will look like before the actual conversion begins.
