The Property Brothers, otherwise known as Drew and Jonathan Scott, have many talents, including real estate and music. But for St. Jude, Jonathan breaks out a hidden talent: magic.

Growing up, the brothers say they volunteered at a local children’s hospital in the oncology ward, and Jonathan used to do magic for the kids. St. Jude is all about letting kids be kids, regardless of their diagnosis, the brothers say, so Jonathan’s routine falls right in that sweet spot.

“It’s like a magnet. All of a sudden they want you to do it again, do it again!” he says. “So I’m willing to break the magician’s code and do a trick more than once, just because I know it’s helping kids be kids.”

The duo recently released a country cover of Flo Rida’s “My House,” from which all proceeds are being donated to St. Jude. They’ve dipped their toe in country before with a single from their show, and from their experiences in the genre they can’t imagine a better fit to be advocates for St. Jude.

"I don’t think there’s any genre of music that exists that has that sense of family behind the scenes that country has,” Jonathan shares. “When we host CMA fest, when we’re out at any of the award shows, it’s like a family reunion every single time. That’s what it is here [at St. Jude]. You’re not just treating the patient, you’re also treating their family. It’s that sense of family that St. Jude just gets, and it aligns perfectly with country.”

“Country music hits your heart — it definitely does. And so does St. Jude,” Drew adds.

The Scott Brothers’ “My House” is available now and features Eric Paslay, whom the Scotts say was chosen for a very specific reason.

“It was very hard for us to find another country artist who was our height, and he is!” joked Drew.

The video includes several cameos from country artists like RaeLynn and Lindsay Ell, but also a few surprising guests like comedian Carrot Top and Evan Bass and Carly Waddell from Bachelor in Paradise.

On Feb. 16-17, Taste of Country will join 15 Townsquare Media stations in support of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This two-day web and radiothon aims to raise money and awareness for the world class research and treatment facility in Memphis, Tenn. Now in its fourth year, this collaborative effort has raised nearly $3.9 million. Country radio has helped raise more than $700 million during 27 years worth of Country Cares radiothons. The mission is simple: raise money, save lives.
