Purple Heart Medals and Other Service Medals Found in a Dumpster in Midland

The last place you would expect to find medals of honor is in a dumpster, but that is exactly where a Purple Heart and other service medals were found recently.

According to NewsWest 9, the Purple Heart is a medal of injury, bravery, and courage. Now imagine finding a medal of this stature in a dumpster.

Members of the VFW in Midland received a call that a Purple Heart and other medals were found in a dumpster in Midland.

The name engraved on the medals was Jim C. Carter.

Officials with the VFW of Midland are looking for Carter or his family to return the medals to him or his family.
