For all of those who hate changing clocks twice a year, you may finally get your wish to stay on Central Standard Time year around.

According to YourBasin.com, with it being just 12 days away from switching clocks forward to Daylight Saving Time, lawmakers are pushing forward three bills during this legislative session to abolish the tradition that has been in place for over 60 years.

State Representative Jason Isaac, R-Dripping Springs, has filed House Bill 2400 to end the practice of Daylight Saving Time and said the practice causes a jump in fatal car accidents by 6% the week following time change.

State Senator Jose Menendez, D-San Antonio, agrees with getting rid of the practice and has filed Senate Bill 238, an identical bill to be heard in the higher chamber of this legislative session.

State Representative Dan Flynn, R-Canton, filed House Bill 95 to end Daylight Saving Time in the last legislative session but House members voted 56-9 to keep time change intact.

If the two bills pass in this legislative session, Texas would switch back to standard time for good in November.

If that happens, Texas would be the third state that doesn't observe Daylight Saving Time, Hawaii and Arizona are the two states that do not observe Daylight Saving Time at this time.
