The first trailer for Netflix’s fourth and final iteration of Seattle murder-mystery drama ‘The Killing‘ seemed to turn the focus inward, focusing more on the bloodied hands of Detectives Holder and Linden themselves, while their new case took the backseat. Now, two moody new posters have emerged for the final Netflix season, and Holder and Linden look more dour than ever.
Keeping in line with a tagline from the earlier poster that “the past can’t be washed away,” the two pretty new posters for ‘The Killing’ season 4 support the idea that the final 6 episodes will focus heavily on the fallout of Linden’s shocking actions at the end of season 3. Keeping in mind that showrunner Veena Sud has expressly suggested that ‘The Killing’ season 4 will end with an image in mind she’d had for Sarah Linden’s final fate from the beginning, these moody posters could ominously suggest that the blood belongs to either lead.
Meanwhile, here’s how Netflix describes ‘The Killing’ season 4:
The fourth and final season of THE KILLING picks up right after the season 3 finale. As Detective Linden (Mireille Enos) and Detective Holder (Joel Kinnaman) struggle to manage the fallout from their rash actions at the end of last season, they are assigned a new case — a picture perfect family is murdered, survived only by the son, Kyle Stansbury (Tyler Ross), who was shot in the head during the massacre. Joan Allen guest stars this season as Colonel Margaret Rayne, the headmaster of the all-boys military academy where Kyle attends. The new season also stars Gregg Henry, Sterling Beaumon and Levi Meaden.
We’re less than a month from the fourth and final season premiere of ‘The Killing’ on Netflix, but what do you think? Judging by the posters below, could this be the bloodiest (or at least rainiest) year yet for Detectives Holder and Linden? Who would you put money on most likely to bite the bullet?
