We haven’t seen much of Jessica Chastain this year, her only two 2016 feature credits being The Huntsman: Winter’s War (be honest, did anyone see that?) and the upcoming gun control drama Miss Sloane out later this month. But sometimes the world bestows upon us gifts in dark times, and today’s gift was the beautiful trailer for The Zookeeper’s Wife, starring Chastain, Johan Heldenbergh, and, naturally, Daniel Brühl.

The Zookeeper’s Wife is based on the book of the same name by Diane Ackerman, and tells the story of a Polish couple who tend the Warsaw Zoo and live a seemingly idyllic life amongst the animals until the country is invaded my Nazi forces in 1939. Chastain’s Antonina Zabinska and her husband decide to work secretly against the Nazis to save as many Jews from the Warsaw ghetto as they can. Like if Oskar Schindler ran a zoo and was a big fan of cute rabbits. And also was Jessica Chastain.

Here’s the movie’s official synopsis:

The real-life story of one working wife and mother who became a hero to hundreds during World War II. In 1939 Poland, Antonina Zabinska (portrayed by two-time Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain) and her husband, Dr. Jan Zabinski (Johan Heldenbergh of The Broken Circle Breakdown), have the Warsaw Zoo flourishing under his stewardship and her care. When their country is invaded by the Nazis, Jan and Antonina are stunned – and forced to report to the Reich’s newly appointed chief zoologist, Lutz Heck (Daniel Brühl of Captain America: Civil War). To fight back on their own terms, Antonina and Jan covertly begin working with the Resistance – and put into action plans to save lives out of what has become the Warsaw Ghetto, with Antonina putting herself and even her children at great risk.

The Zookeeper’s Wife is scheduled to open in theaters March 31, 2017.
