Recently, we had the first read-through for "Greater Tuna," which is Midland Community Theatre's spring comedy production.

Directed by Carl Beery Moore, the show stars Joe Thomason and me, each playing ten different characters from the fictional town of Tuna, TX. "Greater Tuna" is the first in a trilogy of scripts about the residents of Tuna. "A Tuna Christmas" and "Red, White, and Tuna" have been produced to great success in the past few years at MCT.

The first read-through is exactly as it sounds. Carl, Joe, and I (along with stage manager Doug Hart) sat around a table. Joe and I read our parts, playing with different voices as we find a unique personality and style for every character that we play. Once rehearsals start in January, we will begin to fine-tune these characters, along with blocking (where we walk/stand on the stage).
This will be a journey that you will hear about, both here on my blog and on my afternoon show every weekday from 3:00 to 7:00. The show opens on February 27th, 2015.
Get ready!
