Remember back when rumors of Patrick Stewart returning to future 'X-Men' movies as the beloved Professor Charles Xavier were circling, and then the actor pretty much confirmed them at the Montreal Comic Convention? Well, we didn't realize it'd be happening so soon! Actually... we kind of did, but we thought it would just be him. Turns out, Professor X will officially be appearing in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' along with another well-known character from previous 'X-Men' films.

Along with Stewart, Ian McKellen, who we'll soon see star in 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' as Gandalf, will also be showing up in the next chapter to the 'First Class' franchise, reprising his role as Magneto! 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' director Bryan Singer made the announcement on Twitter:

Deadline tried pressing Singer for more info on how he'd be incorporating these 'X-Men' alumni into the new film, to which the director replied, "The movie is called 'X-Men: Days of Future Past,' use your imagination." As we've previously stated, the comic book story line centers around Kitty Pryde (aka Shadow Cat) as she's visited by her future self, who warns of an impending attack. Though the official plot line has yet to be released, the whole time travel factor will probably be a key component to the film. Hopefully we'll get to see Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy interact with Stewart and McKellen! We can hope.

So, what do you think? Are you excited to hear that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen will be reprising their 'X-Men' roles for 'Days of Future Past'? How do you think Singer will incorporate their characters? Give us your theories in the comments below.
